How to Think Positive

How can we train our mind to think positively even in the most negative situations of life?

Hey there! Today we’re looking at some simple and easy tips to train our mind to think positively, think on the bright side even in the darkest stages of the game called Life!

Since we are the creatures of habits, you may notice that you have the same negative thoughts creeping up in your bed late nights. Once you know what negative thoughts are bothering you the most, you can start working on a solution to resolve the problem.

Before you go to sleep, you can easily train your brain and your body as well. Reflect to your day and think about three specific good things that occurred to you that day. Whether it was someone buying you a cup of tea, an amazingly mesmerizing sunset with your bff, or landing a new client.

Even the smallest of things, like being paid a compliment, having lunch with an old friend, or watching your cat roll around, are more than enough to make you happy, right?

Gratitude is really important. Research has found that showing gratitude can do anything like making you more optimistic. A gratitude journal is a good way to start, but I’ve found that sharing your gratitude is far more beneficial.

Whether if it’s helping a classmate on a project, helping someone at work with task, holding open a door, donating money, or volunteering for social cause, any types of acts of kindness can immensely boost happiness.

Research has found time and time again that taking care of ourselves physically and mentally can influence our happiness and train our brain over time to be more positive. For example, eating healthy, especially eggs, blueberries, and citrus fruits, salmon, can boost your spirits!

Exercising for just 20 minutes a day is enough to release endorphins which in turn will improve your mood. And finally, start practicing mindfulness through yoga and meditation. But what is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is simply being aware of your thoughts and feelings without judging them as good or bad. An easy mindfulness exercise is to set your phone alarm for three different times a day. When it buzzes – stop – one second, and take a deep breath. Helps bring more balance and positivity in your life.
